9th grade spinning
cell phone case (finished project) 
Spinning with 9th grade has been challenging and fun!
we only had 8 double periods for this Art block but is has been very rewarding for them. My next block with them in May will be Basket weaving.
we started with spinning on a stick with some white batting, then we moved into the drop spindle, spinning with white pre prepped spinning fleece, soon we went into different colored fleece, we plant dyed some of their work and ended with adding in funky yarn to the spinning because they needed that extra challenge, color and sanguine interest.

A scrap horse
This is a scrap horse and all the grades know about them. At the end of every class, as we clean up, we collect all the scraps & put them in a basket. By winter break we have enough scraps to stuff one of these horses that I knit with nubs.
Nubs are the very ends of the ball of yarn. There is not enough yarn to make anything big so I am able to get anywhere from half a row to 4 rows on this horse.
The scrap horses go into the silent auction and sell for around $30 per horse.
